About Us

Our journey began with a girl and her dog.,,

 

We began our search for the best medical alert, hypoallergenic companion for our daughter Gwendolynn, who is a type 1 diabetic.  We found and fell in love with the Australian Labradoodle.  As we grew to love our first dog, we began to build our family with our little mini, Gypsy.  She was perfect for our little 5 year old who would 2 years later also be diagnosed with T1D.  We just knew these dogs were something so special that Gwendolynn and I wanted to share with others.  And so our family set out on a new journey together!

At Highland Tails, we believe that every puppy deserves the chance to shine—and that begins with how they’re raised. As responsible Australian Labradoodle breeders, our mission is to provide each dog with a healthy, confident foundation before they transition to their forever homes. We are committed to not just producing beautiful dogs, but doing so with heart, transparency, and a deep respect for the breed.

All of our puppies are raised in-home or with trusted guardian families, never in kennels. From their very first days, they receive early neurological stimulation, gentle handling, and constant socialization. We don’t rush the process or cut corners—every step of the journey is designed to nurture friendly, well-adjusted companions who will thrive in a family environment.

As a fully compliant breeding program, Highland Tails follows all local, state, and federal guidelines. We health test every breeding dog for hips, eyes, heart, and genetic conditions before they’re ever paired. We are licensed and inspected where required, and we strictly adhere to puppy placement laws—never sending a pup home before 8 weeks of age. We also offer responsible rehoming support, should a family’s circumstances change and a puppy ever need to come back home.

Transparency matters to us. Each puppy leaves with up-to-date vaccinations and deworming, a health record, and a microchip.

Our litters come with a health guarantee and lifetime breeder support, because we don’t disappear after the sale. We walk alongside our families—from helping choose the right pup for your lifestyle, to offering resources, training tips, and community support as your Labradoodle grows.

We chose to specialize in Australian Labradoodles because of their loyal temperament, intelligence, low-to no shedding coats, and versatility as both family companions and working dogs. Our goal is to maintain the breed’s integrity while continuing to prioritize temperament, health, and that irresistible teddy bear look everyone falls in love with.
